Easter Egg Hunts - Ellie

The most interesting part of Easter was, by far, the many Easter egg hunts. These were not eggs that could be eaten...

...but they did often have some wonderful candy inside. I especially appreciated the chocolate candy.

There was a time that I was often wandering around the house and, once, around a yard looking for these oblong spheres of delight.

Occasionally I needed some extra assistance, but I was never too proud to accept the help.

The worst part was having to wait to open the egg. I was expected to put the egg into a basket and not open it until all were collected. Sometimes the temptation was too great.

Sadly, not all of the eggs held candy. Some times they held useless silver circles that Daddy could spin. Other times, they held instructions for certain tasks that I should accomplish. The most deplorable action that would occur was when empty eggs were hidden for me to find "just for fun."

This was not fun, Mommy.

Not fun at all.

Easter Dress - Ada

We recently celebrated Easter. As this was a day about Jesus, as Ellie kept yelling, and those days happen regularly, this had very little that made it unique excepting two key components: there were an unusually large number of people in my castle to air me, and I wore a more fancy dress that deserved more photographs. At first, this made me happy, because I was getting attention...

"Hello there, camera! Do you happen to know to where my Daddy went?"

"He was there a moment ago, and I was exceedingly exuberant to see him, but then you arrived and I no longer see his face."

"I wonder if I shall ever see him again."

later, it made me sad, because I was not being held.

"I can no longer remember what it is like to be held."

I was told repeatedly how beautiful it was and how beauteous I was in it, which was so obvious it need not be said. I, however, was more concerned with its taste. It lacked a real solid flavor, but was readily accessible to be chewed upon. That was its most delightful feature.

"Oh, there you are, Daddy! Do not mind me, I am simply consuming this garment."

Easter Dress - Ellie

On Easter, we talk about Jesus. I did my part by running around the house yelling "JESUS!" over and over again. I believe I celebrated appropriately. The part of the holiday that I did not appreciate, however, was having to wear a big dress. I pulled and tugged at it and complained about it being big, but I was not allowed respite. It did allow me time to be outside, however, so it was not entirely wasted.

I wonder where I am permitted to go.

I can go anywhere?

What if something were to happen to my dress?

If something were to happen to my dress, would I be able to remove it?

In that case, "Zooss way."

Sniffing the flower.

We also colored eggs and I put stickers on one. I know not the purpose, but it was entertaining even if I had to wait to eat them.

Glamour Shots - Ada

I was recently introduced to the world of modeling. I believe I quite thrived at it. I do not believe it to be the most enjoyable of occupations, but it definitely has the benefit of everyone focusing their attention upon me. I know not, however what it was that I was modeling, as I was, oddly, undressed save a diaper, a bow, and occasionally a blanket.. Through the process of being photographed so often, I have come to understand that the camera loves me. This is understandable, as all adore me, but I have decided that I should not dislike something that has such high regard for me. Below are each of my best photographs and the name for each modeling pose.

The "Goo!"

The "What is that Yonder?"

The "Giggly Girl"

The "Daddy, Photograph Me Not, I am Indecent"

The "Oh, You Have Returned!"

The "What Did You Say?"

The "Too Cute"

Not all of the photographs were perfect. That, of course, was Daddy's fault.

"I Hold It!" - Ellie and Ada

Ellie: "I hold it" is how I ask Mommy and Daddy if I can hold Ada. Recently, it has evolved into "I hold it Ada," which I am told is more grammatically correct.

Ada: You're still calling me an "it." I do not appreciate that. I am a princess and should be respected as such!

Ellie: "Shh. It's okay, Ada!" Anyway, I ask any chance I get I ask to hold Ada-

Ada: Whether I like it or not.

Ellie: -and Mommy and Daddy excitedly photograph how "ador'ble" I am.

Ada: Much to my chagrin. I make the most of it, however, by crying as little as possible. I've learned that if this is a battle to see who is the most beauteous princess, I must do my part. The secret is maintaining eye contact with the camera and mentally calling for help.

Ellie: "Ada no princess: Ada bobble. Kiss!"

Ada: That is nonsensical reasoning. Although, now that you mention it, a bottle would be delightful right about now.

A Few Short Days in the Emerald City - Ellie

There is one portion of my kingdom of which I am especially fond. It is a magical place full of towers, lights, water, and mystical forms of transportation. A long while ago, I visited said City of Wonder to become closely acquainted with a choo choo, and I have been enthralled with them ever since. Then we went again to see a scientific facility full of buttons. To get to the buttons, though, we first had to pass by dinosohs, whom I could only guess guarded the facility from unwanted patrons. I was enthralled at first, but eventually grew to fear these monsters greatly.

I was then allowed to continue on to tour the rest. I found it very informative. For example, who new those odd zoomzooms Daddy calls "helicopters" were so easy to navigate? Or that there were better musical instruments than the ones I have and that my parents have been denying me louder ways to express myself?

I found this mirror disturbing.

Mommy and Daddy seemed to think that I would enjoy these creatures called butterflies. I did, until one flew in my face. That was inappropriate.

I had to keep moving to make sure I pressed all of the buttons.

Some things were not built for my height, but I touched them regardless.

I can do stairs now.

Papa was nice enough to be my ho'sie.

We returned recently and saw many more wondrous things.

This is Heather. She was my travel companion.

First, we went to a waterfall. This was not in Seattle, but was on the same day.

"Whoa!"

We then went to see Seattle.

"Why are we here? Seattle is over there. You missed."

Thankfully this park had a birdie and room to run.

When we left the park, it was only because I was promised a lighthouse. I saw no lighthouse, supposedly due to it being closed, and instead got stuck in a stroller.

I was allowed to skip rocks, though, so it was not all bad.

After Alki, we got on a big boat called a ferry. This also afforded me room to run.

"Hi Seattle! I am glad to see that you are closer, now."

Sadly, it was cold outside, so I eventually agreed to go inside.

Before leaving the deck, I made sure to dance my goodbyes.

"Bye-bye!"
